Bespoke renovated bothy with high-end, luxurious facilities
A bespoke renovated bothy with a wood-fired sauna, wet room and underfloor heating. Hand-built by Benny — a master carpenter — with reclaimed timbers, a wood-burning stove and Egyptian-linen bedrooms. The downstairs bedroom opens through French doors onto your own private deck and garden, with mountain and valley views. Inside Cairngorms National Park, off the A95 in Drumuillie. We've soundproofed the interior thoroughly (Egyptian linen, soundboard insulation, double glazing), and a footpath from the back gate leads through the woods to the village and the River Spey. Run on renewable heating and a 100% renewable-electricity tariff.
Hand-built fire surround in reclaimed oak. Kindling and dry logs in the porch — enough for a long evening.
Belfast sink, Rangemaster, cast iron pans, ground coffee, locally-pressed oil. Made for cooking, not microwaving.
Linen armchair under the gable window, with a shelf of books left by guests over the years. Add yours.
Cedar-lined, fired from the porch, cools off into the cold Highland night. The best argument for staying an extra evening.
Six marked routes from the gate, ranging from a half-hour amble to a full day on the tops. Printed cards by the boots.
No TV. There's a record player. There's the wind. There's a kettle. That's the entertainment we offer.

"The sauna was incredible with the rainy Scottish weather. Ben was super responsive and kind!"
"Spacious and cosy at the same time. Ben has thought of everything — beautifully and carefully restored and everywhere spotless. The bird feeder in the garden was a wonderful addition watching a great variety of birds from bed."
"Returning after long walks to the sauna / wet room and log fire — magical. The best stay to introduce our young children to the Highlands."
"Really cozy and clean. The huge sauna of course is the highlight for us! We stayed with our dog and also enjoyed the huge green garden with a lot of beautiful birds."
"Beautiful and homely. Has everything you need for a relaxing stay. Situated in a fantastic location close to Landmark and Boat of Garten. We'll definitely be back."
